Cooling Tower Depot® is your No. 1 source for crossflow tower designs. Every crossflow tower we offer is made with high-quality materials and can be customized to meet your unique specifications.
Customers challenged with hard water environments benefit most from the crossflow tower design, which offers reduced drift and recirculation, a low static-pressure drop and increased air-per-fan horsepower. Customers can also choose to use larger fans in order to reduce the number of cells required to meet water-cooling needs.
Because crossflow towers operate by a gravity-driven system for water distribution, they're proven to be cost effective. Decreased energy consumption and a low pumping head (and thus a lower-cost pumping system) lend to lower operating costs.
Additionally, when it comes to upkeep, the distribution nozzles are easily accessible as are the fill, drift eliminators and mechanical equipment, decreasing time and money spent on maintenance needs.
How Crossflow Towers Work
Crossflow towers allow air to flow perpendicular to water flow. Air enters the tower through one or more vertical faces and is directed to fill material while water is pulled through the fill by gravity and dumped into an open plenum area. Gravity then distributes water across the fill material through holes (or nozzles) found at the bottom of a deep pan.
